Now it’s June and the days have been getting longer for some time, the time has come to see how things are on the blog spot again. This winter has been harsh and long. So much so that I was beginning to think it would never end and we would never see leaves or flowers again. Even the winter jasmine found it too cold to bloom. The garden is a mess. Only one hebe has survived, we’ve lost a ceanothus, spirea and escallonia – all that dead wood to clear out without disturbing the good things that are left.
So, fresh as a daisy, the marguerite has flowered. A new beginning, a respite. I’ve even seen one or two bees buzzing around, not many as yet, but then I have been sitting inside enjoying the coffee and honey coloured “Crunchie” bar :-)
